Most newsletters are only available in German. The newsletter 2018/19 and 2023/24 are available in English!
In the 2023/24 newsletter we report on vivo activities around the world, for example in the DR Congo, Burundi and Ukraine. In the portrait we introduce vivo member Amani Chibashimba.
In the 2022/23 German newsletter we report on vivo projects in Germany for refugees from Ukraine and for young refugee men. We introduce the new board of directors and summarise Brigitte Rockstroh’s commitment to vivo in a portrait.
In the German newsletter 2021/22, we would like to celebrate vivo’s 20th anniversary with some throwbacks and insights. In the portrait we present Anselm Crombach and his work in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In the German newsletter 2020/21, we provide insights into how the COVID 19 pandemic has affected vivo’s work. Furthermore, we report on current projects in Tanzania and Uganda. In the portrait we present Tobias Hecker and his work on the prevention of violence in education.
In the German newsletter 2019/20, we report on exciting projects in Germany and the DR Congo. We also provide an overview of the recommendations vivo experts make for the care of traumatized refugees. In the portrait, we introduce long-time vivo member Hakon Stenmark.
In the Newsletter 2018/19, we talk with the new president of vivo international and present vivo’s betterplace projects in Germany, Burundi and Tanzania. Further, we portray Maggie Schauer and her long-time engagement for vivo.
The German newsletter 2017/18 looks at projects in Germany and Northern Iraq. Additionally, we portray Anett Pfeiffer Tumusiime and her impressive work for vivo in Northern Uganda.
The German newsletter 2016/17 deals with the 15th anniversary of vivo international. We look at the development of vivo projects over the years in Northern Uganda, DR Congo and Ethiopia. Furthermore, we asked the president of vivo international Dr. Michael Odenwald three questions about vivo.
In the German newsletter 2015/16, we present a project in Konstanz for survivors of torture and their relatives funded by the UNVFVT, as well as vivo’s work with internally displaced people and refugees who stay within their home region. Furthermore, we included an interview with Dr. Maggie Schauer on mental health of refugees.
The German newsletter of 2014/2015 informs about a project of vivo, which supports survivors of a flood in Burundi with trauma-therapy.
vivos outpatient clinic in Gulu in Northern Uganda gives a voice to the survivors of the rebel war. The German newsletter of 2013/2014 informs about this project.
Massive forms of violenc take place in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. vivo supports the victims as usual with diagnostics and therapy. Additionally, vivo researches the motives of the perpetrators to interrupt the cycle of violence effectively.
Many orphans in Tanzania show school perfomances below average and behavioural problems. Thus, vivo was asked for support. A team of vivo psychologists and tanzanian colleagues interviewed over 400 children at a primary school. The German project report gives information about the findings and consequences.
